On the 19th and 20th of May, two groups of our GCSE Geography students headed to Salford Quays to explore urban regeneration in action.

Students conducted environmental quality surveys along the tram line to investigate whether regeneration has benefited the wider area or just the central zone around MediaCityUK and Salford Quays.

As part of the trip, they also explored key regeneration sites, including a visit to the Imperial War Museum North and a walk around MediaCity.
This fieldwork forms an important part of their AQA GCSE Geography Paper 3, helping students develop critical enquiry and data analysis skills.

It was a fantastic opportunity to link classroom learning with real-world investigation—well done to all students for their enthusiasm and curiosity! The trip sparked some great discussions around the impact of regeneration and how urban change affects local communities.
