In September, our Year 7 students embarked on an unforgettable three-day residential at Kibblestone Scout Camp, diving headfirst into a range of exciting outdoor activities designed to challenge, inspire and bring them closer together as a year group.

Students took part in a variety of adventurous tasks including axe throwing, crate stacking, Jacob’s Ladder, fire lighting, shelter building, and of course, the ever-popular campfire evenings. Each activity pushed them out of their comfort zones and encouraged them to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and support one another.

One of the standout moments of the trip was witnessing the incredible team-building skills and resilience shown by our students. Whether they were scaling Jacob’s Ladder or building shelters in the woods, their determination and encouragement of one another were truly inspiring.

Oliver J, a Year 7 student, had this to say: "Kibblestone was such an amazing experience! From orienteering to axe throwing, there was never a dull moment. One of the best parts was the epic chess match between Mr Redfearn and Mr Kern. Mr Kern made a fierce comeback, but Mr Redfearn still managed to win!"

"Speaking of Mr Redfearn, he learned the hard way that gravity is real—when a conker fell and hit him on the head! At the campfire, there were a few loud bangs, and we all discovered how fast we could run... especially when hot chocolate was involved!"

Mr. Downing said, "We are incredibly proud of how every student embraced the challenges and made the most of every opportunity. The trip not only helped them develop practical skills but also strengthened friendships and created memories that will last a lifetime".

A huge thank you goes to Emerald, Tamar, and the fantastic team at Entrust for their support, guidance, and enthusiasm throughout the residential. Their expertise and encouragement played a key role in making the experience so successful.

We look forward to many more adventures ahead!
