On the 18th of April Year 10 were invited to a JD foundation careers event at Manchester Central Convention Centre. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff as they handed us our lanyards that could win us a gift card. We first entered a big room with stalls from multiple brands who were giving out wristbands based on our given personalities and showed us what our jobs would be if we were part of the JD team.
On entering the next section we were introduced to a pop-up shop where you could dress a mannequin in unreleased clothing. Another exciting activity was to put the correct shoe on the stand and rewards were handed out for the ones who guessed the most.
The next room was filled with many physical challenges such as indoor archery and exercise competitions where more prizes were up for grabs and refreshments were readily available. this was the room we finished our bingo cards from the start, and were now entered into a prize draw.
As we were all toured into auditorium where special guests were brought on stage. This included the JD's senior leaders and famous youtube and JD modelling star, Chunkz, who shared his experiences from growing up and careers such as, when he was six, aspiring to be a Tesco security Officer.
Chunkz handed out prizes and rewards for people getting involved and the lucky bingo card landed on out very own Elliott, who was elated to receive his reward. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and aspired us towards our futures.
