This week, our School Council and Year 11 Ambassadors took part in an inspiring Leadership Training Day led by Heather Walton and Adele Crowshaw from Bury Council’s Youth Support Service.
The session focused on one of our school’s key priorities — developing leadership among our young people. Through a range of engaging and practical activities, students explored what it truly means to be a leader and how they can make a positive impact within our school community.
The day included team-building exercises, discussions on how effective meetings work, and sessions on the importance of representing others’ voices. Students learned how to plan, discuss, and drive change that benefits everyone in school.
One of the highlights of the day was a reflective task where students wrote letters to Mr. Watson, sharing their thoughts and ideas for improving the school and strengthening student leadership.
The event was a fantastic opportunity for our young leaders to build confidence, collaborate with others, and gain valuable skills that will help them both in school and beyond.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Heather Walton and Adele Crowshaw for delivering such an engaging and motivational training day. Their guidance has empowered our School Council and Ambassadors to take the next step in leading positive change across our school.
