On Thursday 22nd January, Woodhey High School proudly welcomed a wide range of employers to our Annual Careers Fair, an important event within our Personal Development programme and a key part of The Pledge. The event provided students from Years 7 to 11 with an invaluable opportunity to explore future pathways, ask questions, and gain real insight into the world of work.
Throughout the day, the Frank Bennett Hall was transformed into a vibrant hub of discussion, curiosity and aspiration. Students engaged enthusiastically with representatives from a diverse range of industries, learning about career routes, required qualifications, apprenticeship opportunities and the skills employers are looking for in the workforce of tomorrow. These meaningful conversations encouraged students to think more deeply about their ambitions and helped them make informed choices about their next steps.
We were delighted to be supported by the following organisations: Alliance Learning, Bury Care Academy, Bury Council, E3P, Garic, Greater Manchester Police, Jet2.com, Lavender Hills Care Home, Manchester Metropolitan University (Teaching), MPloy Solutions, National Crime Agency, NHS – North West Ambulance Service, Persona Care and Support, Ryder & Dutton Estate Agents, The Royal Air Force, The Royal Navy, Tiddlywinks Nursery, VINCI Building and Vital Energi. Each organisation brought unique perspectives and expertise, helping students to understand the wide range of career opportunities available locally, nationally and internationally.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the employers and organisations who gave their time, expertise and support to make this event such a success. Your guidance and encouragement play a crucial role in helping our students make informed decisions about their futures and in inspiring the next generation of professionals.
We look forward to continuing to build strong partnerships with local and national employers and to providing further opportunities for our students to explore careers as part of our ongoing commitment to personal development. The Annual Careers Fair once again proved to be a highlight of the school calendar and an important step in preparing our students for life beyond Woodhey High School.
