As part of Woodhey High School’s Personal Development Programme, The Pledge, our Year 10 students recently took part in three days of Mock Interviews designed to strengthen their confidence, communication skills, and readiness for the world of work.

These interviews play a vital role in preparing students ahead of their five‑day work experience placements in July, giving them first‑hand experience of a professional interview environment. They also provide excellent preparation for the post‑16 provider interviews that students will undertake in Year 11 as they make decisions about their next steps in education and training.

Across the three days, students demonstrated maturity, ambition, and impressive self‑reflection. Many reflected on how valuable it was to practise articulating their strengths, discussing their interests, and thinking carefully about their future career pathways. Interviewers consistently praised the attitude and engagement of our Year 10 cohort.
